2009 Dateline Award Honoring TCU FootballJoin the American Advertising Federation – Fort Worth (AAF-FW) as we honor TCU Football with the 2009 Dateline Award for the program’s success in bringing the national spotlight to Fort Worth.
Following TCU’s climb to number four in the BCS rankings, ESPN College Gameday went live from Fort Worth for the first time to cover the Horned Frogs battle against the Utah Utes. The nation took notice as Lee Corso removed his cowboy hat and donned the famous SuperFrog head in support of a Frog victory. This is just one of many instances of the national exposure TCU brought to Fort Worth.
Previous Dateline Award recipients include the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, North Texas Speedway, the Van Cliburn Competition and Chef Tim Love. Last year’s winner was the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl that catapulted Fort Worth into the national spotlight when General David H. Patraeus took the field for the coin toss and again during half-time where he was presented with the 2008 Great American Patriot Award for working tirelessly to make the United States a better and safer place for all of its citizens.
